For leather enthusiasts, breathtaking itineraries to discover the mountains surrounding the Land of the Sun.
From the Fenêtre d'Ersa to the Dôme de Tsan, the ski mountaineering itineraries offered by the municipality of Torgnon are varied and suitable for beginners and long-standing enthusiasts alike.
The first ski mountaineering itinerary, the easiest one, leads to the Fenêtre d'Ersa. A connecting point between Torgnon and Valtournenche with a breathtaking view of the Cervino basin and the Plateau Rosà glaciers. A popular trading route in the past, today it is a pleasant immersion in the silence of high altitude. Starting from the quaint village of Etirol, you reach the 3,351 metres of the Dôme de Tsan. We pass the Loditor pond, the Alpe Chavacour and then cross a larch forest to arrive at the Tsan bivouac, near the lake of the same name. From here you continue until you reach the three peaks of the Dôme de Tsan. The panorama? It ranges from Mount Cervino to the Monte Rosa group. An alternative is the Fenêtre de Tsan. From the Tsan bivouac, we continue towards the Dôme. Where the itinerary bends to the right, we climb the slopes that descend from the Cima de Chavacour to continue towards the saddle called Fenêtre de Tsan. This pass connects Valtournenche with the neighbouring Saint-Barhélemy valley.
